continual learning

interesting phrases on the chinese calendar

Simple joy is not be as far fetched as many of us may mistakenly imagined. By acknowledging our own unique qualities, we are able to harness on those qualities and find peace with ourselves, true?

I was never and still not a bright person, I am just a simple hardworking person who understands that my lack of intelligence can be compensated with willingness to learn. It may take me a while longer than my brighter counterparts in picking up things, but I will get to there with perseverance.

I love my Chinese calendar which hangs beside my workstation. I am incapable of generating giant joy, but I know I am able to create simple joy, if not, find the simplest joy in the daily life.

One of my daily simple joys is finding the ‘hidden’ abstract wisdom in my calendar. Reading from right to left (Ancient Chinese writing is meant to be read from right to left) the 2-liner reads “A blade shall rust when left unpolished”; “A person shall be outdated without learning”.

Of course, you may debate that you could just get the anti-rust blade so that you don’t have to keep polishing it to keep the shine and sharpness. Oh well, let’s sniff the essence of the phrase instead, shall we?

I believe in continual learning, and be humble about what we know, even if we think we are really great in what we do. There is no end to learning.

So, just what am I learning currently? I am constantly learning to constantly enjoy simple joy in life, isn’t that great? Oh, another one, I am also continually learning to be undistracted..hahaha.

Ok, I am off to process tons of photos (a whopping 9GB of photos, mind you!) and get down to writing out the new patterns. You heard me right, I have completed 3 designs, but only releasing one for now.
